From allmusic:After the breakup of Rema Rema, Gary Asquith, Mick Allen, and Mark Cox formed the art-damaged discordance of Mass with Danny Briottet. One of the earliest 4AD bands, they debuted with the "You and I" single in 1980, following it up a year later with the full-length Labour of Love. Asquith and Briottet went on as Renegade Soundwave, while Allen and Coxthe Wolfgang Press.
Not much information is available on this band, probably partially attributable to their short lifespan. What I do know is that Labour Of Love remains an unheralded classic of goth and post-punk that is most effective in its stark minimalism.
